Sundays have always been the best day of the week for me, as it is the day where I like to plan for the week ahead. I also like to relax and enjoy a good book, before I start the process of planning. However, some people develop the Sunday blues and dread the upcoming week. I am here to tell you, that it’s not all bad. I too, use to struggle on Sundays because I was clueless on where to begin. I use to go through the week on a wing and prayer and hoped that I accomplished all the I had on my plate. (it didn’t happen!)
In this post, I will give you 5 spectacular things to do on Sunday that will not only help you to have a better and more fruitful week, but learn to LOVE Mondays in the process!! Let’s GO!
Start Your Sunday on a Positive Note
By starting the day off doing something I enjoy, I’m always more motivated to getting the productive stuff out of the way afterward. It might be meeting with friends for brunch, movies, or just chill out. Being around friends and family can always make you feel awesome. If you want to be by yourself (trust me, I feel like that sometimes) I just stay at home curled up on the sofa with my fur-baby and read a book. I recommend The Fitness Code 😍. Sometimes redirecting your attention or being absorbed in an activity your love will definitely get your spirts high and have you looking forward to the week ahead.
Go To The Gym (don’t give me that look)
Don’t let a Sunday go by without practicing some type of self-care. Now, you don’t have to go to the gym, but it’s important to set aside some time for yourself. You can go to the spa, get a pedicure, do a little bit of mediation, or listen to your favorite podcast ( I listen to MFCEO Project) Whatever self-care is for you, do it every Sunday (preferably a little every day).
I personally love the gym, with that being said… If I don’t have a workout plan for the week ahead, I end up skipping exercising altogether. Therefore, on Sunday, I decide which workouts I want to do during the week.
Meal Prep, Meal Prep, Meal Prep
I know some people despise grocery shopping, but it’s a task that has to happen. You need to go through the fridge and cabinets and take a look at what food you already have on hand and figure out how you can use that for meals. Meal prep can become a family event. Me and my husband will prepare healthy meals ahead for the next 3-4 days and keeping them in the fridge. We love the convenience of the meal prep container. When we are ready to eat, we just pop a meal in the microwave or oven, then bon a petit!!!
Do The Things You Didn’t Get To
Sunday is the day I wash all of our sheets and clothes. Then I make sure to get any dirty towels cleaned, dried, and put away. Because Sunday, is the day we go grocery shopping, it’s the perfect time to clean out the refrigerator. As I am putting away the groceries, I am throwing out anything that’s old and expired. A messy home can give some people some serious anxiety. I go around the whole house and de-clutter everything. I like to make sure that I am starting the work week with as little distraction, as I can.
Go To Bed Early
You’ll have more energy to tackle your week and can get through Monday with a clear head. When you are feeling tired and anxious it is not a good mix, so get into the routine of going to bed early on Sunday night. Give yourself time to unwind and get ready for bed. You might have to read a book or listen to some soothing music, to fall asleep. I try to go to bed a little early on Sundays to prepare myself for the week.
